Bio

I'm a "Lead Teacher" at MSMS. I completed my teacher training in New York State back in 1994; I was blessed with a teaching practicum in a rural district, a suburban district, AND an urban district! I've been teaching full time in my home district for over 14 years now. I've taught grades 7 through 11 over these years, but I love the middle school ages the best! I have a fabulous three-year-old son - affectionately known as Rascal - and he keeps me on my toes with his antics.

Interests and Hobbies

I wish I had more time for all of this, but I try to make time for at least ONE of these activities every week: * Digital Scrapbooking * Crochet * Genealogy * Reading (fiction mostly: mystery, crime, history, foreign settings) * Theatre (trying to get back into this!)

Favorite Music

ROCK - 60's, 70's, 80's, and some from the past 20 years (but not Grunge). I like Pop and Country too, but I'm not necessarily into the Top 40. My musical taste is "eclectic" - depends on my mood!

Favorite TV Shows and Movies

Medical Drama (addicted): ER, Chicago Hope, House, Grey's Anatomy, Mercy, Body of Proof, etc. Crime/Legal Drama: The Good Wife, Castle, Awake, Life, Midsommer Murders, Hawaii 5-0, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal, The Practice, Law and Order series, CSI series, NCIS & NCIS-LA, etc. Reality: American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance only...no others. My PVR is full of Children's programming, mostly from Knowledge & PBS!

Favorite Books

Anything by Pat Conroy, Ian Rankin, Henning Mankell, Kathy Reichs, Anne Rice, Jeffrey Archer, Ken Follett, Edward Rutherfurd, Amy Tan, W.P. Kinsella, and the early John Grisham (haven't enjoyed the last few at all!) I LOVE my Kindle!

Teaching Passion

Project-based learning, writing workshop, and Socratic-based reading workshop.
