Internet Website Screen Annotation

Tracy Tishion's picture

I would like to annotate a website for my students to help them navigate and utilize a site for their work. I'd also like to be able to print it out as well as saving it as a PDF to publish on my website for the students who were absent. Is this a possibility?

Answer:

The answer is yes and the screen annotation tool is a mimio feature that users many times overlook on the toolbar. Using your mimio notebook's toolbar, you can activate the screen annotation mode once you have gotten to the Internet page of your choice. This will allow you to mark up certain pages, but remember it will freeze the view of your screen, so you won't have the ability to scroll down on a page. To have more of the screen in the frozen view, you could use the zoom level of your screen then freeze the screen. Don't forget that screen annotations are saved in the Gallery inside the "Screen Annotations" folder. You can print them when they are in the notebook page just as you would any other notebook page and notebook pages have a variety of formats that they can be saved in and then printed, such as a PDF. Mimio Pre-recorded Webinars

Tracy Tishion's picture

I have viewed a number of the Mimio pre-recorded webinars and have found them to be extremely informative. I would like to use them as part of my own professional development for technology. Is there a way to obtain a certificate for continuing education units after watching/participating in these recordings?

Answer:

Absolutely and you are so right. The Mimio Webinar series of live events and recordings are very informative and packed with lots of great suggestions, examples, and tips to enhance your Mimio experience in the classroom. Each live webinar or the pre-recorded webinars offer continuing education units via a certificate of completion once the webinar has been watched (by live participation or watching a recording). To obtain one for the pre-recorded webinars, you'll receive a link at the end of the viewing experience to click on in the chat box, take an assessment, submit it, and then a link will be emailed to you for the certificate. To obtain a complete listing of webinars, just follow this link: http://www.mimio.com/en-NA/Events/Tradeshows-Events.aspx. As always, if you get the chance, check out our Ask a Master section for additional tips, trick. and suggestions!

Why are there blue borders on my notebook page?

Tracy Tishion's picture

Why are there blue borders around some of the objects I place in my lessons and then some have no borders? Can they be removed?

Answer:

They can be removed. Any multimedia item you place into your mimio notebook will have that blue border. This simply tells you that it's not locked in place and can be moved or manipulated. To remove the blue border, select the item and either RIGHT CLICK and select LOCK or go to FORMAT>LOCKING>LOCK. This will lock the item in place. You can do this with any or all items you place on a page. If you want to manipulate and/or move items again, simple RIGHT CLICK and select UNLOCK ALL or go back and choose FORMAT>LOCKING>UNLOCK ALL. I hope this helps solve your issues!
