Memorial Day Resources

Do you know of some good resources to incorporate into lessons on Memorial Day for elementary grades? I know I could search Google for resources but that gives me lots more than I'd like to peruse. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Answer:

What a good question and I believe I have some good solutions for you. Here is a link to an article on how Memorial Day started which you could share with your students or incorporate it into a Mimio lesson: https://d43fweuh3sg51.cloudfront.net/media/media_files/memorialday.pdf

Also, you could go directly to this site: https://www.pbslearningmedia.org and search Memorial Day which will bring up a plethora of activities, puzzles, articles, videos, images-all of which could be stand alone learning experiences or be combined and put into an interactive Mimio lesson! PBS Learning will most likely direct you to your own state's PBS Learning site which is fine.

Enjoy exploring and creating a star spangled lesson tailored to you and your students' needs!

I am looking for lesson ideas on Martin Luther King Jr that are geared towards middle schoolers. Can you give me any advice or lessons on MimioConnect?

Answer:

I can give you some suggestions as to where you can find some quality material geared towards middle school. The lessons on MimioConnect are basically designed for elementary students yet with a little modification/additions on your part, they certainly could be used for upper grades. Those modifications could include some of the content from the resources listed below which include crosswords, video clips, timelines, quizzes, and much more:
