This lesson allows students to move real life objects to the ruler and measure them in inches and to half inch. They can then check their answer with the answer reveals on each page. This lesson can be modified for other types of measurement using centimeters, meters, yards etc. There is a guided practice page for students to practice measuring different parts of their body with a partner.

I really like all of the objects you picked for students to measure. The pictures and the mesuring tools are very clear and easy to read. Also, I am always looking for ways where all of the class can be involved and I like the idea of the students using white boards at their desks to record and practice as well.

Fun

This is a fun lesson. I can see how you could you this as a whole class experience with students having a ruler at their desk and others taking turns at the board. Good job
