"Get More" with Understanding Multiplication

The lesson, "Understand Multiplication", was created by MimioConnect user michellewestcott. The author did a great job of creating activities to review multiplication.

We took this lesson as a good starting point and applied the instructional design components of Interactivity and Aesthetics.

Download and refer to the Using Instructional Design Components PDF for more information on how to achieve positive learning outcomes with your students from your Mimio lessons.

Please download both lessons so that you can see the great work from user michellewestcott as well as the “Get More” version. Let us know what you think in the comments space below, and share how you might apply the design components in one of your lessons.

Great lesson! I will

Great lesson! I will definitely use this with my 2nd graders. Would you share how to do the slide that shows the skip counting with the red lines on the rulers. Thanks for all of your great lessons!

pmmccarthy, I'm glad you can

I'm glad you can use the lesson, and thanks for asking for help!

Everything on the page is shapes and text. After drawing the boxes and adding the text, I locked everything on the page. The I used the line tool to draw the red lines on top of the ruler where I wanted them to go. I added the red answer text in red where I wanted it to go, and I grouped all of that together. Then I used the animate feature (right click on what should be animated, and go to "animate") and chose that the grouping should "slide in from the right" and for the trigger I chose "results". Once animated, you'll see a blue box around the image or grouping that's animated. Lock the animation and the blue box disappears. Then you can click on it to make it slide in/out.

Hope that helps, let us know if you have any more questions.
