Multiplying Made Beary Easy

Total views: 2891

This Mimio Lesson teaches students how to multiply two and three digit numbers by two digit numbers (ex: 334 x 87). It has a bear and bee theme. Three different ways are taught: the box method (visual of the distributive property), the lattice method, and the standard algorithm. Mimio Vote is used throughout the lesson, but even if you don't have the voters, you can still use this lesson. This lesson was made for 4th grade students, but it would be great for high achieving 3rd grade students, or as a review for 5th grade students. If you like this lesson, make sure you look for my other lesson: Multiplying is a Hoot, to teach your students how to multiply two and three digit numbers by one digit (334 x 7).

I really liked your

I really liked your presentation. However, my students asked me to write and let you know that they found a few errors in the section on the Lattice Method. They located a computation error (or a typo) 7,290 for 2,790 on slide 8 and a repeated word "care careful"on the same slide.
Thanks for your work.
