Good intro

This is a great way to introduce fractions. Kids can get so overwhelmed with fractions in the beginning, but this lesson breaks everything down for them. I love all the examples!

Kim, CONGRATULATIONS on winning as a Finalist with this superb submission to our FETC 2011 Contest! Good activities, well written objectives! Objectives would be even more comprehensive if phrased like: The students will identify fractional parts of a whole object by creating concrete models to represent the fractions by dragging the correct amount of bricks to the blue rectangle as modeled in the previous pages.
