About bird's SchoolBioI love the outdoors. My time outside of school is spent with my family----3 children ages 19, 16 and 16. Interests and HobbiesMy interests are football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, track and field, fishing and golfing. I really enjoy yardwork and even scooping snow in the winter. Favorite Quotations" personality is what you have when you are around others, character and integrity are what you have when no one else is watching" "dancing is a contact sport, basketball is physical" Funny Teaching TaleI was coaching Jr. High Girls basketball once, and I was going over an offense with the 5 girls on the court. I told them to reverse the ball and throw it into the post player, who then should pivot and kick the ball out to the opposite wing player for a "3". Well, the post literally kicked the ball very hard into the gym ceiling. Teaching PassionI want kids to be engaged ---physically, mentally, socially---in the classroom. I find that homework is "overrated"--so we do most everything in class time----I think the kids today are overloaded enough the way it is. |
