Hi Everyone,
I am a candidate for National Boards and for one of my entries I want to use my Training for Professional Development on the Mimio. I use it all the time and I know that it impacts my students, but it seems whatever I say, it is questioned...I know they are engaged, how do you know, they are involved,, how do you know? Other than scores being raised, could anyone help by sharing some ideas on how mimio impacts students learning.

I love working with kids. I love hearing their impressions of the world, and how they think things work. This topic is dedicated to the cute, funny, interesting or thought-provoking things kids say in class. Please add to it!
"Do these computers have a D: drive? Because there's a Tarzan game on the D: drive"
"Can we learn about space? I have a book about space but I can't read it yet"
"But that's silly!" and "That's so rude!" when I was teaching Grade 1's about Apartheid

Our school is in the process of developing rules concerning computer use. Is there a set of rules and consequences that can be used by all schools? Should each school have to set up their own acceptable use policy? How detailed should the infraction and consequence be spelled out?

It seems the current trend to rate teachers is based upon the testing scores of their students. A poorly rated school is one in which the students score poorly on whatever standardized test is used. Yet a lot of things that happen or don't happen in a school are determined by people at the district level. It is at the district level that a decision is made to standardize on a particular piece of technology, software, grade book, etc. Some times staff at the schools are detailed from the district rather than the priciple at the school.

Hi folks,
We're a charity in Ireland that do drug education in schools. Lots of our work is designed to be very interactive and group oriented. We recently got some funding and I'm researching different multimedia tools that we could use.Any feedback on how usable the mimio would be for groups of up to 30 that I want to be able to work away themselves in groups. I want it to be as "not teachery" as possible. (no offense intended, excuse made-up word).
Thanks
Seamus

Hey there I'm doing a paper for my MEd (Educational Technology) on the mimio and I was wondering if anybody out there knows of any prior research done with the mimio.

Would you pay for professionally-produced mimio Studio content to be used in your classroom?
I would envision this content being more multimedia-based and much deeper than current content offered on mimio connect.
Would this interest you?
What sort of content would you expect to see?
What would be a fair pricing structure?
