Reading Street

Does anyone out there use Reading Street by Scott Foresman? I teach second grade and in the process of converting all of my ppts to MIMIO. What a task to get them flashy anyway. I thought if someone is willing to share and has done some work we could work together to do more of the program. I did find some lessons for second grade done on Promethean but they would not download into MIMIO for some reason. Jacqueline

Getting teachers to use the technology

We've had Mimios for about 6 years now. Some of my teachers have really taken the ball and have run with it. They use Mimio everyday(mostly Jr. High), while others have not taken the time to learn. I have had on-site training, but to no avail. Some will just not use it. How do I, the Technology Coor. change the mind set of these teachers?

Adding actions to objects

I am new to Mimio, and I am trying to add action to an object such as flying in, flying out, bursting, disappearing, etc. The only available options seem to be cloning, adding a sound or hyper-linking. I have seen other templates where shapes have actions that don't seem to be available. Can anyone provide any suggestions? Thanks!

Looking for a good site for comprehnsion

I would like to know of any sites out there where I can download a dice that I can use within MIMIO or not. I want to put my own higher thinking questions on them and use them during reading group. I would like to be able to touch it and it flips to a different question each time. I would love to know any thoughts... Jacqueline Second Grade Teacher

The New Products

Saw the new Mimio products in person at a presentation on Friday. I am very impressed with everything! I have been lucky to use a MimioPad for a few months and I like the ease of connecting and using it. The new Teach, Vote, View, and Capture are really innovative. The improvement to the bar - wireless out of the box, a rechargeable docking stylus pen, simplified buttons - are very welcome. The Vote student response system builds in clever color coding of the buttons to aid students, especially elementary, in finding the answer they want. The Capture kit really improves this system.
