Biografia

Greetings! My name is Susanna Garza and I serve as the Coordinator of Instructional Technology, Library Services and Career & Technical Education at Education Service Center, Region 20 in San Antonio. I have just completed 15 years of service at ESC-20, first as a distance learning instructor, then as a distance learning specialist, an educational specialist in Instructional Technology, and later as a coordinator supervising an increasing number of programs. Prior to working at ESC-20 I was a bilingual/ESL teacher at two public school districts in south Central Texas. I earned a medical degree at Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City where I lived for 25 years and practiced as a general physician for 5 years. I speak, write and read four languages -Italian, Spanish, French, and English. I have a passion for technology in education and strongly believe in the urgency to prepare tomorrow's college body and workforce today. Thanks to the opportunity to oversee instructional technology, school library and CTE programs, and to work with a large number of schools that have a wide range of needs and success stories, I have developed a unique perspective of how everything fits together in the broader picture which we know as 21st Century Skills. In the spring of 2009, ESC-20 became a Partnership for 21st Century Skills Professional Development Affiliate.
