Annotating on Keynote or PPT Lesson while in Presenter mode

I'm wondering if there is a way to annotate directly onto a keynote or powerpoint presentation (or quicktime movie) when it is in presentation mode. I have spent A LOT of time making keynote presentations for each of my Calculus lessons and I want to be able to "write" on the keynote presentation while my class is viewing it. I really don't want to have to re-create all of my lessons in Mimio Notebook.

I've read the manual but I haven't been able to find a way to do this. Any ideas?

Make it a pdf file :-)

Hello,

It is also possible with Keynote to save your presentation as a .PDF file. Just go to "Save As" and use the file drop down menu. There you can choose to save the file as a .PDF.

Once you Keynote file is in PDF format, you can import it into mimio Notebook. To do so, use the "Import" option under the "File" menu. You can also drag and drop the file icon into mimio Notebook.

Annotating in PowerPoint

I am not sure about Keynote, but you can annotate PowerPoints or videos while they are being presented. You need to go into Screen Annotation mode by pressing the second button from the top on your mimio Interactive bar (or click the icon in the lower right hand corner of the mimio floating toolbar. You will hear a "camera click" sound and a bright green line will appear around your entire screen. This freezes your screen and allows you to annotate with the mimio tools (have your floating toolbar open to access the tools). When done annotating, click the icon on the lower left of the floating toolbar to exit screen annotation. You can continue with your PowerPoint presentation, accessing and exiting the screen annotation mode as you need to.

Keynote file annotation mad simple :-)

Thank you for asking such an outstanding question! I think there are two possible solutions to your problem.

Since it is not possible (yet) to directly import Keynote files into mimio Notebook you can use a simple work around. Please try saving the Keynote file as a .pdf file. You can do this by clicking on "file" and then "export" in Keynote. Follow the simple path to the .pdf file. You can then take the .pdf file and import it into mimio Notebook for annotation.

Another option for you would be to use mimio Screen Annotation. To do this, run your Keynote file in Keynote with your mimio open. Use the screen annotation buttons at the bottom of the tools to freeze each slide for markup. All of your markups will automatically be saved in the mimio gallery.

Either solution should work for you!
