I would like to see cooperative learning spinners. They are spinners where you have multiple rings of numbers. For example if you have teams of students in your classroom and you would like one person from each team to share, you can spin. Groups of 5 would look at one part of the spinner and groups of 4 could look at another to see who from their team would share. I hope this is making some sense!!! You can look at Kagan's website to get a better idea of what I am talking about.

I would like to see a way to enter kids names in and randomly pick their names. I would like it to float on top of the lessons. That way is I change lessons it can use the name grandomizer. That way when I deliver my lesson I can radomly choose a student.

I can not find any multimedia "dot dice". I could only find dice with numbers. First grade uses dot dice a lot, and I could really use them. Any help?

I was excited about the math power pack. but then I realized it did not have a single right triangle that I could change. There was the templete but it was not very helpful when I was needing only one to do the pythagorean theorem. I needed room to solve the problem. But I have enjoyed the mimio very very very much.

I am looking for a random chooser to allow me to pick students to answer questions but not pick the same student twice.

I would love a ticker tape where I could add my own text. Is this a possibility?

I would like to see more interactive flash tools in the gallery. SMART has many interactive flash tools that are editable and allow the teacher to set the correct answer with immediate feedback responses. I would love to have more of these in mimio.

As a person new to mimio and mimio connect, I am amazed at all the potential. Ive learned so much but realize that tecnology is always moving forward. I would like to see a baseball player that throws a ball which turns into an answer to a question. I think that this would be a really cool feature which I would use often.

Hello, I teach English and love Mimio studio, but a few new features would make my job easier (I know only my points number 3 and 7 are related to Power tools, but I thought I would post the rest as well, as I don't know how to contact Mimio developers when we have suggestions or bugs):

1) hyperlinks: PDF files support hyperlinks, so it would be nice if they could be saved with the rest when we choose save as... + pdf. By the way, if the text could stay as text and not be converted as pictures, that would be good too (my students could use text to speech conversion to learn the pronunciation of the lesson)

2) I put my lessons online for my students as pdf files, it would be extremely useful if they could download a light version of mimiostudio (just a reader, without the possibility to write, but they should be able to click on the ressources such as videos, or flash tools and to follow hyperlinks). That way, they could go through the lessons again, using all the interactive tools.

3) The Mimio Notebook should work more like a browser: at the moment, when I play a video or a Flash animation in a notebook page and then move to another page to write what the students are saying, when I go back to the animation page, it reloads it, so the animation goes back to the beginning and I lose the position where I was. It's the same with all the flash tools, they revert to their original state. This should only happen when we click on a refresh button or load the .ink file again. Another solution would be to allow pages to be broader or higher than the screen, we could put the video on the side and still have space to write.

4) The projector tool could have differents shapes: a rectangle projector would be better for discovering a text paragraph by paragraph. I know the reveal tool allows for this, but I would like the beginning of the text to be hidden when we move on and I guess there would be other uses for such a tool.

5) A button to navigate between applications would be really useful, especially from the full screen mode as it's not convenient to go to the keyboard to press ALT+TAB when facing the students, or to close the full screen mode to find the right tab at the bottom of the screen.

6) The online handwriting recognition is really useful, especially for people like me: Mimio seems to understand my handwriting better than my students! When we work within the notebook, it could automatically insert a text box where we write without needing to click first on the "T" in the toolbar. I would use it all the time!

7) The toolbar is always needed, so it has to stay on the screen most of the time. I know we can minimize it by double-clicking, then double click again to open, change tool, then double click to minimize... What I would like is, when the bar is minimized, to have it behave like the windows start menu: you click and then navigate to the tool you want, and then it minimizes itself automatically again. It could be called by a button on the Mimio pen to appear just where we want and disappear when the tool is selected.

8) As for Power Tools, they're really useful, but if it's technically possible, it would be nice to have tools on which you can write: for example, the reveal boxes, I would like to write the question on them, and then when I click, the question disappears and we see the answer. The same with the bubble pop balloons.We could also imagine cards on which the teacher writes a question, and when we click on it, it flips the card and we see the answer on the other side. If we could also put pictures on these tools, they could be used as flashcards.for language teaching.

I hope that some of this will find its way into the next versions. Keep up the good work!

It would be great if there was a way to color fill inside black lines. For example, when I import a blank outline map, I would like to add text box of the country's name, then cover it with a fill of color. Then have students click to reveal country name. Sort of like the bubble pop, but the color is the shape of the country. I have tried this but had to just color and the students erase to see name.

A music notation power pack would be awesome. We need better music notation to work with.

I would love a dice with dots to use in my math lessons.

You could include ready-made interactive tools for creating exercises for English language teachers!! (quizzes, multiple choice etc.)

Ah, just thought of another. As a high school math teacher, I would love to have something such as equation editor for typing problems into my slides.

Definitely a reset button, so all I have written/changed for one class could be removed without closing and reopening the program before the next class.

It would be nice to be able to hyperlink a whole object or word instead of having the hyperlink "dot" show up.

This really doesn't fit in the Power Pack but I'm going to suggest it anyway. Quite a few teachers I teach with get really frustrated when they type in a textbox and the letters are huge then when they click out of the box the letters get smaller (the size of font they've chosen). They feel it's like a "false advertisement". They click for the font to be 72pt. and while typing the letters are huge but then they get smaller. They would also like to have a wider range of font styles.

I would like to see talking numbers. It should say something like, "Number 1, the answer is... " That way when we reveal an answer, there's a bit of a build up. Maybe music too.

Some ideas that could boost mimio tools in my mind would be:

1)The addition of two functions on the mimio 'mouse' a)a laser beam-pointer button, and b) a button or function that would allow the palette to move to where the 'mouse' is. ( this function would allow easier change of colours when writing.-the use of a pop up mini colour picking sub-pallete nearby would come in handy too)

2) The palette could minimise itself after the selected tool has started operating (Sometimes we pick the wrong tool and ,on the fly, we realise our mistake, go back and pick the right one. So we don't want the palette minimised then.)

3) Of course I agree with most of us who are making suggestions that animation would be more than welcome in any form ( allow gifs animate/ assign a letter, word or design to roll/slide/fly... to another point.) Facilities very useful when teaching spelling rules /formation of questions etc.

4) I would also like to be able to upload a page to my website for my absent students' needs, with a click of a button.

5) When I use 'text mode', I always have to choose my favourite font and size. It would be nice if the software could include these parameters in the settings menu.

6) A 'CP' - copypaste- (not to copy + then paste) button/function would also speed up things.

I would like to see you be able to import a paragraph from another source, click on a word, and the word become a blank (for students to fill in). Also, as you click on words, the words go into an answer bank to pick from.

A stop watch and countdown timer.

I would like to see blank dice that I could add my content to. It would be great to put vocabulary words on a die and have the students spin and then give the definition.

I am still exploring all that mimio has to offer. Both mimio courses and the lessons posted on mimio.connect have been a great source for ideas and strategies for making lessons more interactive and appealing to students.What I would still like to see are:
- a way to rotate and reflect images
- a way to resize the grids from the gallery so they don't take up the entire screen
- ability to screen clip images in shapes other than rectangular. I tried to get Canadian currency and could not get rid of the white square around each coin.
- I wanted to create a "memory game" to review linear functions and their graphs. Half the squares would contain the functions and the other half, the graphs. Students would select two boxes and try to make a match. If their selection was correct the graph and equation would remain. If not, they would be covered up. I couldn't think of a way to make this work.

Animating objects but also the kinds of transitions and animations available in powerpoint.
I have some great clip art web sites that have music objects animated but when I drag them into my gallery they are no longer animated.

Something I think that would make it easier to navigate pages in a notebook would be tabs like you find in excel workbooks when I use the multi page tool students see the answers before I want them to.

Cloning tool would be a real plus. Also this is really hardware, but a longer stylus wand, so small kids can reach higher!

I absolutely love all of the mimio Power Tools! I would love to see more animations, and sound effects.

Elementary teachers are asking for dice with 'dots' instead of numerals ---- they would find these very useful in their classrooms.

1. Yes, crop tool, YAY!! something that allows me to cut down the size of a picture, not just shrink it but cut a section of a picture out

2. Letter dice! Yay!!

3. Deck of cards that would change randomly when clicked

4. Flashcards--for both math & letters & sight words. What would be great is to take the flash cards already in gallery (minus the reveal screen) and combine them all into one tool, that would randomly change each time it's clicked on--so that I can load it on the page and just click through the flash cards quickly and everytime I click it the word/addition card/multiplication card etc. changes randomly to the next. What would be even better is if I could create the flash cards by inserting text and group them together in the flashcard group. Kind of like what others have asked for editable dice--that would be nice too. A button to reshuffle card order would be awesome as well.

5. Boggle game--I downloaded a boggle game that someone created using a grid and text letters in the grid in mimio studio. What would be great is if a grid like that could be created and then the entire grid changes randomly when a button is clicked to reshuffle.

along the lines of a self check, where the student could drag and answer to the matching question, and if the answer is wrong, the choice they picked would go back to where it came from, maybe even with a fun sound effect (my students LOVE the sound effects) and if that's possible, then I would like to also see if the answer is put in the right place, some sort of animation, maybe where it bounces around or lets off fireworks or something.

On my promethean board in my previous district, we had a hovering hand lense that served as a spy tool. You could layer photos (say...as frog over a fly with the fly aligned to be under his belly) or photos over text (like a metamorphic rock over it's definition) and when you would drag the spy tool over the item you could see through to the bottom layer. It was my fav tool of all time, and I'd love to see that sort of functionality with my mimio board.

I would love to see the ability to animate any object on the screen, whether it fades, moves along a path, flashes, etc. . . . In my humble opinion, this would truly be taking the software to a new level.
