I want to know if there are any schools in South Africa that are using ipads or tablets in the classroom.

Yes, there are. I'm not sure off hand which ones. There are several South African teachers on Twitter, and I read about it there. Inbox me your Twitter handle and I'll show you which SA teachers I follow.
