Born in Augsberg, Germany on Texas soil (my dad was an Army Captain stationed there and had the governor of Texas ship a box of soil from the capital to place beneath the delivery table, so I would be born on Texas soil. Educated at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX; University of Texas at Arlington, TX; University of Dallas, TX, and Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. Happily married to husband and proud mother of Joey (PhD in Demographical Statistics), who is married and has a son just like him! Payback...

Intereses y aficiones

I own a quilt shop in Midlothian, TX, so I love to quilt and sew (hand and machine). I am an avid reader (and listener) of mystery and crime novels, but I like historical fiction as well.

Fábula divertida

I was teaching the SAT Prep class. It was the first day, and I had a gigantic young man come in late and sit on the front row (teanagers start at the back of the room and come forward until the seating chart is made). I told them I needed to gage where they were, so I could help them move forward. We were going to take a practice SAT that would be timed. I started the timer, and notices the gigantic young man just sat there. I waited a minute thinking he was deep in thought, but he didn't even open the packet of questions. I quietly went to him, knelt down and said, "You do understand this is a timed test to help me know where you are in your knowledge base." "I don't care," he said. "I'm not takin' no test." "You do understand that this whole semester class is about preparation for the SAT test. The entire curriculum is test taking," I implored. "Nope," he said. "I signed up for the SAT class...that means I get to sat for a whole semester! This is a sattin' class, plain as day." I sent him to the counselor for a schedule change, but I never laughed in his presence!

Pasión en la docencia

KIDS! They are cheap entertainment! I love to watch the "lightbulbs come on" when they discover something new.
