Summary:

The general purpose of this lesson is to give students practice activities and intereactive web sites that will enhance their understanding of the Earth's Moon and the Lunar Cycle. By completing these activities, the students will be able to identify and name the eight phases the Moon passes through during one complete Lunar Cycle.

The "home" page provides a brief description of each activity with a link to that activity. Please note that some links go to interactive web sites about the phases of the Moon so Internet access may be required. The PDF attachment included is best viewed with Acrobat Reader (or Preview on a Mac). Activity #6 on the home page goes to a "Wheel of Fortune" game about the phases of the moon. The "Other Activites" page also includes several more links to other activities to help students learn about the Phases of the Earth's Moon. Each activity page has a link back to the "home" page.

The "Practice Review Quiz" has five questions. If the MimioVote student response system is used, a "response" pie chart is included for each question which will reflect students' understanding at a glance.
