Thanks for sharing this

Thanks for sharing this interactive vocabulary lesson. I am a music teacher and do not do a lot of paper/pencil vocabulary activities, but I do like to know if the students understand and remember subject-specific vocabulary. This type of activity is great for my class because each group is presenting or performing for their classmates, which is a useful skill in music class.

vocabulary cranium

This seems really interesting. I have been looking for ways for students to learn and then use their new vocabulary words. I also like the fact that it is very multisensory, especially using the play dough.

Nicely Done!

This is a very nice contribution! I saw that someone had commented that the scores reset when you flip between pages. This is true, but there are ways around it. You could add them as a pullout on the game page. Or, you could save a copy of the file and open it separately (thus switching between ink files and not pages within a single file).

Cranium vocab

My kids and I love Cranium! I've never thought of using it for review of vocab before though! My only comment is that I would want to switch back and forth between the directions page and the score page, but every time I do, I lose the scores and times. Any way to correct that?

Idea

I love it too! I agree that it would be very helpful to reference the directions throughout but because the counters are flash they reset when you go to another page. I suggest that you copy the directions and paste them on the page with the game. You can put a background in the textbox so the directions are easy to read and then add an arrow that you can use to pull out the directions when you need them. I am emailing the lesson with the directions on the game page to you.

Happy Mimio-ing!

Cranium Vocab Game

Thanks for sharing this great activity. It is a great way to review vocabulary and it get the kids to do more than just memorize a definition. It also allows them to use all their senses and really understand what the word means.

Creative Vocabulary Game

I just completed a training for ESOL teachers at a community college. They were looking for a lesson that would help their students learn new vocabulary. They were thrilled that they could edit and add their own words. Directions are very clear and addresses all learning styles.
