Transfer of Energy – Food Chain utilizes CScope unit 7 lesson 2 to provide an interactive Mimio activity to foster hands on learning. First, students will be required to demonstrate TAKS strategies they have learned using a TAKS released question. Next, students will see a PowerPoint from CScope to learn the basic of a food chain. On the next slide students will practice what they learned by placing objects into the correct order in the food chain. The teacher will instruct students to draw a food chain in their interactive science journals. Students will also view a video from Brain Pop over the food chain. Last, students will create a food chain/food web where they become an organism in the food chain. They will be connected by yard. This is a fun activity that gets students to realizing how each organism depends on several other organisms for survival.
