Aliens and rockets

Summary:

Aliens and rockets is a Snakes & Ladders type game, integrating Maths into a space theme. It is played on a 100 grid. Learners roll the dice and then move their counter forward. If they land on an alien or a rocket they will need to complete the sum to figure out where to place their piece next. The first to Mars gets to place the flag corresponding to their counter colour on the flag pole.

This game can be used as a whole class activity with groups, or with a small group.

Thanks for the feedback Andy. I got most of my pics from www.clker.com, a great website with free transparent background images. You can also download high quality images, which I find are needed when you project them onto a big screen.

Great Game!

As a second grade teacher, I can appreciate how you have incorporated multiple subject areas as well as state standardized math skills. This game is a great way to keep students engaged and have fun with their math! My only recommendation would be to provide some instructions at the beginning, for those of us downloading the game. Congratulations on a lesson well made!
