MimioVote Self-Paced Test Procedures & Practice for Students

Summary:

Teaching students how to use technology is extremely important. I learned this the hard way during my first year using the MimioVotes. I would have my students complete a paper assessment and go back and enter their answers with their MimioVote. Students would input their answers, but for many students- their answers in Mimio were inconsistent with their paper test. This became double the work for me, as I would have to grade the paper tests as well as check the MimioVote scores - No thank you!

So...I decided that I needed to teach students the proper procedures for entering their answers on self-paced tests.

This mini-lesson gives students directions for taking the self paced test. At the end of the directions, the teacher can either model or students can take a self paced practice test with their MimioVotes. (You can print the test out by clicking on FILE-->PRINT TEST.)

I usually have my students take the paper assessment first then go back and enter in their answers with the MimioVote. I still check over their answers, but maybe this lesson will help me be a little more confident in using the MimioVote scores for some of the students' actual grades.
