General purpose computers are divided into categories. This lesson defines the following six: desktop, servers, mobile devices, tablet PCs, mainframes, and supercomputers. This lesson also identifies the following system components: processor, memory, expansion cards and ports. Also included in the lesson are three activities for students to complete for more practice.

Great Lesson

This lesson is ideal for my 7th and 8th grade students. I will definitely use this activity with my students.

This lesson is very informative and the objectives are well written. The font seemed a little small sometimes, but otherwise a great lesson!

Excellent

I love this lesson. All the slides have consistent colors and theme. Directions and objectives are clear and concise. The links back to the main page on each slide is great idea as well. Excellent job!!
