This lesson was inspired by Mimio Connect user gfuller987's place value activity: http://mimioconnect.com/content/lesson/15952/place_value_ones_tense

I added a random number generator robot and simplified the objective a little bit. I also added directions. The random number generator I used is from the random number generator gallery pack on Mimio Connect: http://www.mimioconnect.com/content/lesson/random_number_generator_gallery

The second page takes the activity a little bit further and has students generating two random numbers to make a number sentence. This can easily be adapted to smaller numbers.

If you are working with younger students, I would suggest using the one-digit number generators from the gallery pack. You might also remove the tens unifix cubes to make it simpler.

The page design is intentionally plain to allow teachers the ability to customize it a little more to suit their personal tastes.
