Summary:This lesson starts out with a BrainPOP, Jr. movie & quiz ("Solids, Liquids, Gases"). After that, "Mickey Mouse Molecules" are explored. At this point in the lesson, I had my students put on MM Molecule necklaces that I made and acted out how the molecules move together in different states. After that, there is a link to a silly youtube video by "Dr. Loopy". The lesson ends with another BrainPOP Jr. movie & quiz "Changing States of Matter".
The following days, my students and I did a variety of experiments and worksheets to reinforce the concepts.
Note: This lesson was taught after "The Water Cycle".
