Question:
Is there a way to insert a table?
- Submitted By:
- Terry T.
- Date:
- May. 9, 2013
Answer:You will be happy to know that you have a few different options when it comes to inserting a table into your MimioStudio Notebook lesson. I’m not sure which application the table you are trying to insert is formatted in but you can try to copy and paste it in by right clicking on the table, select COPY and then once you are in MimioStudio Notebook simply right click again and select PASTE. You could also do this by using the menu options at the top of MimioStudio Notebook. If the copy/paste option doesn’t work you can always use the screen clipping tool (which is on your toolbar) to clip the chart and add it to your lesson. In this case it would be easy for the students to use various tools to annotate the table. Another option is to simply keep the table in its native application and use Screen Annotation which would freeze the screen and allow for you or your students to annotate the table. When using this method a copy of your annotations is automatically saved in your Gallery for future reference.

Question:Does Mimio offer any lessons that can improve my students reading fluency?
- Submitted By:

Answer:
Thank you for such an outstanding question during National Read Across America Week!
National Read Across America Week is a national event that is celebrated by schools, libraries, and homes across the country. Read Across America day began several years ago in conjunction with Dr. Suisse’s birthday with the goal of encouraging students, especially young children, to read.
As a classroom teacher myself, I understand that all educators are teachers of reading. Encouraging my students to read is an essential part of young person’s education. As a parent, the time I spend reading with my young children is precious. Early reading helps children build a foundation for a lifetime of success in Language Arts.
To answer your excellent question; Mimio offers a research-based and proven supplementary reading instruction program for a variety of elementary grade levels and learning needs. This includes the MimioReading Comprehension Suite and the MimioSprout Early Reading. Students can engage in both of these programs on classroom computers, home computers, and using MimioReading for iPad App.
The MimioReading comprehension suite is a state-of-the-art instructional program that provides broad and effective lessons for schools that want to improve their reading comprehension performance in grades 3-8.
For beginning readers, the MimioSprout early reading suite is a K-2 supplemental program that ensures reading success for every child, guaranteed. The program takes a non-reader or beginning reader up to mid-2nd-grade reading skills in less than 30 hours of individualized online instruction.
MimioReading software works by assessing and adapting continuously to student performance. Success is celebrated at every point of progress, and corrective feedback is always delivered in a way that is informative and encouraging. Value is added through earning systems that include coins and coin redemption, but primarily focus on building value in successful mastery of the program objectives, and ultimately, the ability to read.
While teachers and principals love Mimio’s research- and evidence-driven individualized reading programs because of the great results, students will tell you how fun and engaging they find every moment of the instruction. I have seen students at my school become better readers after using MimioReading. I have also seen my PreK daughter start to excel with MimioSprout.

Question:
How can you use MimioVote Questions with existing PowerPoint lessons?
- Submitted By:
- Lynn A.
- Date:
- Feb. 28, 2013
Answer:
What a great question! You can use the MimioStudio Vote Add-in function to create any type of MimioVote activity in Microsoft PowerPoint. MimioVote activities are created by adding question slides to a PowerPoint presentation. A Vote Add-in feature includes a variety of pre-formatted question slide templates to make creating activities in PowerPoint quick and easy. The Vote Add-in feature should have been added to PowerPoint when you installed the MimioStudio software. If you go into PowerPoint you should see an add-in button in the menu on the right. If you click this you should see vote objects over on the left that will allow you to enter vote questions into PowerPoint. You can’t open vote files in PowerPoint but you should be able to create vote questions based in here.

1. Open Mimio Settings in the software. Go to Classroom Devices.

Question:
Is there a limit to how many questions you can ask on a MimioVote test?
- Submitted By:
- Emily F.
- Date:
- Jan. 7, 2013
Answer:What a great question! You will be happy to know that there is no limit to the number of questions you can ask on any given test using the MimioVote Assessment System so feel free to ask away. The only issue you may run into, and this of course depends on your computer, is adding too many questions may slow things down a little bit when using the file. Just remember as part of our MimioStudio Software, your Gallery comes with wonderful Question Templates that are designed to use with the MimioVote Assessment System. However, you can still use the Question Template if you do not have the MimioVote. To do this, open your Gallery, go to and expand the Questions and Results folder, open up the Questions folder. Now choose the template you’d like, drag it out into MimioNotebook, resize as needed and add in your question and answer choices and you are ready to go! Left clicking once inside the template will open up the text fields where you can enter the question and answer choices. Click on the circle to the left of the correct answer choice and you will see a green check appear. You can change other settings by clicking on the icon in the lower right hand corner of the template. Once you finish, click outside of the template and it is ready to use. To reveal the correct answer simply click on the blue button at the bottom center of the Question Template. Please watch THIS wonderful video tutorial showing you how easy it is to add question templates to your lesson!
